Travel Expenses
General rules
The basic principle is that 9Y will reimburse you for the for full amount of the most affordable reasonable travel option.
What’s a “most affordable reasonable travel option”? If the cheapest way to do a journey is say by taking a bus, but it's not reasonable because it would take 12 hours to get there, then you shouldn’t travel by bus. If the next cheapest option is to take a train, and the train runs at good times and is quick, then this is reasonable, and therefore this is the “most affordable reasonable option”, and therefore this option would be reimbursed.
Team members can in principle pick their own travel option, e.g. rent a car or hire a private jet, but they will be only be reimbursed in the amount of what the most affordable reasonable option would have been. For example: if a train costs 40 EUR, and the car costs 120 EUR, then you can use the car, but you will only be reimbursed the 40 EUR. If the train makes no sense, and the car is the only reasonable option, then you will get the full 120 EUR.
Collect all invoices for your travel, and forward them to billing@9y.co with a request for reimbursement.
