Christmas Holidays

• No forced vacation. Some companies close their offices for 2 weeks, and force everyone to consume their holiday days during this period. We don’t do this, we’re not forcing people to take holidays. Some people want to save them for the summer, or going skiing in March, or whatever. So while it might be more convenient for the company to stop the world for 2 weeks for logistical reasons, we're not imposing that, and we're giving people the choice.

• 24th and 31st off. Additionally, we’re gifting some holiday days. The 24th and 31st of December are only half-holidays in Austria, and no holidays in Croatia. But we think they should be holidays. So everyone at 9Y gets the 24th and 31st free (= paid time off, on top of your normal vacation days). This is in addition to the normal national holidays like the 25th, etc. That works out to 1x gifted holiday days for employees in Austria (two half days), and 2x gifted holiday days for employees in Croatia. You don’t have to do anything (no need to request to HoF, or enter anything into our time tracking), we’ll automatically credit this to your flexitime. Same goes for employees in other countries, you get 24th and 31st as paid time off.
